Handoff Routine

Previous Primary

  • Check and followup all issues and tickets that are assigned to the primary.
  • If the issues or tickets are being handed off:
    • write a brief summary or note about what has happened and how to proceed
    • hand them off to the new primary
  • If the issue or ticket cannot be handed off:
    • specify that the previous primary is going to continue the issue or ticket
  • Check and update issue and ticket statuses in jira or support platform.

Previous Secondary

  • Check and followup all issues and tickets that are assigned to the secondary.
  • If the issues or tickets are being handed off:
    • write a brief summary or note about what has happened and how to proceed
    • hand them off to the current primary
  • If the issue or ticket cannot be handed off:
    • specify that the previous secondary is going to continue the issue or ticket

New Primary

  • Read handoff notes
  • Ask questions if needed
  • Assign previous primary’s tickets to the new primary

New Secondary

  • Read handoff notes
